Join us as experts in each of these areas share their knowledge on important topics that affect the biofuels industry. We will give you the information you need to ensure you are aware of significant changes that will impact your business.
This webinar will be broken into three parts with a different speaker for each. The topics will be:
Updates to Accounting Standards
During this session, we will be discussing accounting standards updates that are new or recently effective that will have an impact on the Biofuels industry. Included will be the updates to revenue recognition, leases and other standards including the effective dates and the impact the standards will have on the financials. The session will help you to ensure you are up to date on all the latest accounting standards.
Changing Compliance Standards and How to Prepare
The compliance atmosphere is ever changing. We will be discussing common compliance issues and changes happening with the Low Carbon Fuels Standard (LCFS), the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS), Tier III Sulfur, and the Oil Spill Tax. This is a great high-level summary of a handful of important compliance regulations.
Tax Updates and the Impact to the Industry
The passing of the first tax reform package in more than 30 years has brought many significant changes that will impact your business. We will discuss hot topics relevant to the biofuels industry, such as the new 199A deduction, depreciation changes, and other opportunities to reduce the tax liability for both your business and your investors. This session will give you the information you need to ensure you are planning for a successful future!

Jordan Rettmann on “Updates to Accounting Standards”
Jordan Rettmann is a Senior Accountant at Christianson who specializes in audit, review and consulting services for clients in agriculture, renewable fuels and manufacturing, with special expertise in risk management, RIN consulting and attestation compliance. Jordan joined Christianson in 2012 after graduating from Southwest Minnesota State University with degrees in Accounting and Finance.
Zach Hauser on “Changing Compliance Standards and How to Prepare”
Zach Hauser is a Senior Accountant at Christianson and specializes in audit, review and consulting services for clients in agriculture, renewable fuels and manufacturing, with special expertise in RIN attestation compliance. Zach joined Christianson in 2015 after graduating from Northern State University with a degree in Accounting and Banking.
Sarah Snyder on “Tax Updates and the Impact to the Industry”
Sarah Snyder is a supervisor and EA with Christianson, PLLP, a full-service accounting firm serving the renewable fuels industry for nearly 30 years. She specializes in business and individual tax preparation and consultation, tax research and planning, including Affordable Care Act compliance. Sarah works with clients in multiple states and a variety of industries including renewable fuels, manufacturing, retail, construction, and agriculture. Sarah joined Christianson in February 2007.
Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St. Cloud State University. She has worked with Christianson for 11 years, which has allowed her to gain extensive knowledge of her clients, their industries, and the applicable tax benefits.
