As part of our mission to serve our clients by providing innovative solutions through knowledge, experience, and vision, we are expanding our service offerings. Christianson PLLP, one of the nation’s leading experts in biofuel compliance is launching a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program.
The QAP is a liability protection and compliance program that utilizes independent third-parties to verify that RINs have been properly generated and valid for RFS compliance. The voluntary program is aimed at adding a layer of transparency and greater fluidity in the RIN market, while also building a more efficient and effective RFS program. Invalid RINs transferred that have been verified under an approved QAP provides an affirmative defense against the transfer or use of invalidly generated RINs, and specifies replacement of invalid RINs with valid RINs, and by whom.
The launching of the QAP is a natural addition to Christianson’s already vast compliance service lines. With having worked with the RFS program since inception and performing over 1,400 RIN attests over the last 12 years, our team of experts make it a priority to help companies stay up-to-date on all things compliance and other relevant regulations and mandates.
In addition to RFS expertise, our team of experts have completed the required training and testing to be verifiers under the California Air Resources Board Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), effective 2020 with first verification due in 2021. The challenges that the industry has faced, and is still facing, in terms of regulation, market demand, trade barriers, and misinformation means that compliance and transparency is vital for industry growth.
“We’re excited to be introducing a Quality Assurance Plan,” said John Christianson, Managing Partner of Christianson, “and confident that this expansion to our offerings will continue to help our clients make sound business decisions.”
“I am excited to be working with Britt Ferguson as a lead for our new QAP service offerings.” says Kari Buttonhoff. “Britt has been a great addition to our Christianson compliance team and has previous knowledge and experience to provide you with the expertise you have come to know and trust.”
We are working alongside the EPA to launch the Christianson QAP service as soon as possible. If you have any further questions or would like more information on our QAP offering or other topics related to renewable fuel regulations, reach out to our experts as we are ready to assist you.
