Title:
Senior Auditor
How long have you worked at Christianson PLLP?
Since July 2020
What service lines do you manage and support?
My primary responsibility is supporting the Christianson Compliance team by performing LCFS Validations and Verifications examinations and RIN attest engagements. I also support financial statement audits, provide development of grant applications and business plans, and aid clients in securing funding for projects.
What is your educational background?
I earned my B.S. in Accounting with an emphasis in Accounting Information Systems from Bemidji State University in 2006. My licenses and accreditations include CPA, LCFS Lead Verifier, OR CFP Lead Verifier, ISO 9001, Lean Practitioner, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Oklahoma but moved to Carver, Minnesota in 2007, where I currently live with my husband and five-year-old son.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working at Christianson because of the people! My colleagues are truly some of the best people you could find, and I love the variety of the clients and the work I do. I truly enjoy auditing and it continues to be the foundation for my career but earning the trusted advisor role with one of my clients has been very rewarding. I enjoy technical writing and research to help clients secure financing for major capital expense projects, and I discovered through my role at Christianson that auditing for compliance and technical writing are two of my superpowers!
What do you like to do when you aren’t auditing?
I love to compose music, sew, kayak, and do a variety of forms of competitive shooting, including recurve archery. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, my five-year-old son, and my beloved dogs, Kelby and Mattis.
What are you most proud of when you consider all that you have accomplished while at Christianson?
I am most proud of helping our clients achieve their goals relating to compliance activities and business advisory services. I find it rewarding to know that I make a positive difference for the environment while helping clients reach their environmental goals and satisfy regulatory requirements. Through participation in the firm’s business advisory services, I have helped clients obtain large volumes of funding through grants and sales tax initiatives that have aided them with their capital funding goals that provide them with a means to create a cleaner environment for our planet that we all share together.
What does it mean to be a “trusted advisor”?
In this fast-paced networked economy, it means that I work hard to maintain and improve my clients’ business skills and knowledge. When a client calls for advice or when a client recommends me to others because of excellent service, I truly feel that I have reached “trusted advisor” role. At Christianson, our mission statement is “Creating Clients for Life,” and that is exactly what we strive to do.
