Title:
Compliance Auditor for Renewable Energy
How long have you worked at Christianson PLLP?
I joined Christianson in February 2021
What service lines do you manage and support?
My current work focuses on helping our clients with Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) validations and verifications as well as Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) RIN attestations. I also lead the Carbon Capture + Sequestration program implementation and the expansion of consulting services for ESG reporting and Voluntary Carbon Markets.
What is your educational background?
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Business from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I will earn my California Air Resources Board LCFS Lead Verifier accreditation in October and I’m also a member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals.
Where are you from?
I am from a few different places. I was born in Chicago, grew up in Michigan, studied in Costa Rica, lived in Baltimore, MD for several years and am happy to now call New York City my home.
What do you love most about your job?
What I enjoy the most about my work with Christianson is making a difference in the lives of our clients and the people we serve. I love building business strategy to improve companies. I empower teams with the knowledge and tools to inform their key decision-making processes. In the sustainability field things evolve quickly, and I enjoy constantly learning as I stay informed on what is relevant in the industry. Nearly every week there are new standards, regulations, frameworks, or initiatives that can directly impact the work we’re doing each day. I love being able to communicate to our staff and clients about the ever-changing landscape of sustainability.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Outside of work I enjoy playing music, hiking, biking, exploring the city, cooking great food, spending time with my spouse, our friends as well as our two cats Alfalfa and Stella.
What are you most proud of when you consider all that you have accomplished while at Christianson?
I am most proud of the impact I have made by working on projects of all sizes and complexity. We serve many of the biggest names in the industry as well as many small to medium-sized businesses each with their own set of unique challenges and opportunities. Every day I help companies evaluate their environmental compliance, calculate their carbon intensities, decide on program implementation, engage and educate stakeholders, advise teams on how to scale new service offerings and create meaningful changes for businesses.
What does it mean to be a “trusted advisor”?
As a trusted advisor clients and staff can call me with any question they might have, regardless of whether it is specific to a project, or if they are looking for information resources. It means having tools and ideas that could help, but more importantly, it means pausing to truly listen and hear them out to understand how I can best support them and their team. Sometimes it means simply picking up the phone for a call.
